It goes without saying that aging is unavoidable. But, if you must age, why not do everything in your power to delay it as long as possible? The way you live and the things you do in your daily life have a lot to do with how quickly you age.
1. Pat your skin, don’t rub: Rubbing your face, particularly with scratchy and rough towels, can cause small tears in the skin, causing premature aging due to constant tugging and pulling of the skin. Always use a soft cloth or a face towel to pat your face dry.
2. Take lots of water
We cannot overemphasize the importance of water. The body and its organs function rely on water to function properly. Make sure you drink at least three liters of water daily. It helps to flush out toxins in the body thereby making your skin radiant.
3. Eat Nutrient-Dense Food: This is a no-brainer! What you eat will be reflected in your skin. To slow the aging process, consume a nutrient-dense diet high in protein, vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and phytonutrients.
4. Exercise: Exercise not only keeps your body fit, but it also keeps your skin looking young. Exercise also increases blood circulation, which nourishes body cells and eliminates free radicals.
5. Moisturize: Moisturizing will prevent your skin from dryness which will further keep it looking smooth, supple and younger, so a good moisturizer which suits your skin type is a must to include in your skin care regimen.
6. Use Retinoid Creams: Retinoid creams help your body produce more collagen to make you look younger by getting rid of wrinkles, acne, age spots and many other signs of ageing. So you can include any retinoid-based cream in your skin care routine which suits your skin type.
7. Sleep: There’s a reason it’s called beauty sleep! When you sleep for 6-to-8 hours per night, your body produces more growth hormones to keep your skin supple and elastic, reduces stress hormones that damage the skin, and produces more collagen to keep your skin looking younger.
