Barcelona may have struggled in front of net midweek against Galatasaray in the Europa League, but those attacking difficulties were left behind and did not follow the Catalan giants back to league play.
Seeking a fourth straight La Liga win, Barcelona obliterated Osasuna from the opening whistle to the final kick. The proceedings were elementary as Barcelona had little resistance from the visitors at Camp Nou.
Ousmane Dembele, back in Xavi’s favor despite the contract dispute, pulled the strings throughout, picking up a pair of assists and eviscerating the Osasuna left defensive flank. In front of net, Ferran Torres picked up a brace inside the opening half-hour, and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang adding a third before halftime, while Riqui Puig put the cherry on top with Barcelona’s fourth with 15 minutes to go.
Osasuna arrived at the Camp Nou in 11th place in the La Liga table, comfortably away from danger, but they provided little resistance in what was a comprehensive defeat from start to finish.
